530 Card Port Configuration

In order for the 530 card to successfully communicate with the analyzer, it must be configured to both the analyzer's and Northern's requirements.

This is accomplished via the Configuration Setup Screen that is available in MPCUP.

bulletRun the MPCUP program.
bulletSelect the Configuration Setup option.
bulletIf you are using more than one 530 card, the Select Port Screen will display.  If you have a single 530 card, that port's configuration screen will automaticall be displayed and you can skip the next step.
bulletAt the Select Port Screen, select the port you wish to configure.
bulletSet the parameters on the configuration screen to match the analyzer's settings.  Most analyzers will have some way of displaying or setting the communication parameters they are set to.  The most important settings are the baud rate, bits, stop and parity settings.  The other settings are also important, but if the 4 listed earlier are not set correctly, you will get do data transmitted to or received from the analyzer.

NOTE : the changes made will only take affect after you exit this screen.

bulletWhen you are done setting the configuration parameters, press the <ESC> key.  You will then be asked if you want to save your changes, select YES to save them or select NO to discard them and restore the former settings..

WinMPC

bulletClick on the icon for WinMPC to start the program.
bulletClick on the analyzer that you wish to configure.
bulletAfter the analyzer has been highlighed, click on the Configure button at the top of the program.
